Save The Animals Foundation is a volunteer-driven, no-kill shelter providing rescue and rehabilitation to alleviate the suffering of dogs and cats, while helping each animal find a loving home.

Funded entirely by donations and operated solely by volunteers, our Cincinnati no-kill animal shelter and adoption center homes over 300 cats and dogs, many of whom have been abused, abandoned, or literally tossed away.

Teams of volunteers work with the animals two shifts a day, 365 days a year, providing them with a safe and caring environment until we can place them in permanent, loving homes. Over the years we have matched thousands of lucky animals with equally lucky families.

Cathy Wolterman Coop Fund at the UK Markey Cancer Foundation

While receiving treatment at UK Markey Cancer Foundation, Cathy Wolterman Coop met several patients facing mental, emotional and monetary challenges. While she battled cancer herself, she also helped others so they could focus their energies on getting well, without any extra worry.

The Cathy Wolterman Coop Fund was created to honor the memory of this compassionate woman. 100% of donations support female patients who are battling any type of cancer and are in need of financial assistance for items such as transportation to treatments, groceries, hotel rooms for family members, meals, childcare and help with medication co-pays.

The Kyle Swanson Legacy Fund was able to make a generous donation to this organization August, 2024.

Dragonfly Foundation

Dragonfly Foundation helps pediatric cancer families and patients find Strength, Courage, and Joy. Dragonfly relieves the emotional, relational and practical challenges of cancer. At their core, what they offer is community, the feeling that you are not alone during this alien, isolating experience. They live to provide understanding, support, resources and opportunities families will rely and reflect on for years to come.

The Kyle Swanson Legacy Fund was able to make a generous donation to this organization December, 2024.

Friends of the Shelter

Friends of the Shelter, formed in 2003, is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit organization established to fund the medical care of sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center so they can be adopted into loving, forever families.

The Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center is funded by the county budget and from funds generated through fees, such as dog licenses. However, these sources of funding are not sufficient to provide medical care for the Shelter dogs that need more than basic services.  Nearly all of the donations to Friends of the Shelter go directly to pay for the medical, surgical, recuperative, and infirmary care for Shelter dogs that are sick, injured, abused, or neglected. This care costs, on average, $150,000 annually and is funded primarily through donations. Friends of the Shelter does not receive any funding from taxes, national organizations, or government entities.

Paul & Rose,

What a beautiful way to end a Wednesday!  I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your generous gift from the Kyle Swanson Legacy Fund.  I am so grateful Patty introduced you to our mission and for your work through KSLF for our community at large.  She is amazing and we are blessed to have her a member of our CSC Community.

And to give you an idea of the impact this investment will have our CSC community, your donation will fund our…

Monthly Young Adult Connection Group FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR!  This group serves any person ages 20 – 40 living with or supporting someone with cancer and provide opportunities to get and give support, as well as social activities to reduce isolation.

AND our Monthly Survivorship & Beyond Connection Group FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR for those who have completed cancer treatment and transitioning to survivorship.  These groups are a critical part of the free programs and services we provide through and beyond cancer.

I look forward to sharing more goodness with you and, again, thank you for helping us ensure no one faces caner alone.

Best, Gretchen - VP of Development & Marketing
