2022 Impact

Through your generosity, to-date (just a few months), the Fund’s resources have supported three incredible organizations highlighted below.  With our 501(c) (3) status, we are excited to further these relationships and create many new impactful opportunities for those we serve.

St. Xavier High School Swimmer

The Loyola Club’s stated goal is to help admit any academically qualified young man, regardless of circumstance, to attend St. Xavier.  In recognition of Kyle’s four-year swimming career at St. Xavier, the KSLF has sponsored a 25%, four-year academic scholarship to a swimmer in need.

The Kyle Swanson Legacy Fund was able to make a generous donation to this organization August 2022.

Friends of the Shelter

Friends of the Shelter, formed in 2003, is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit organization established to fund the medical care of sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center so they can be adopted into loving, forever families.

The Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center is funded by the county budget and from funds generated through fees, such as dog licenses. However, these sources of funding are not sufficient to provide medical care for the Shelter dogs that need more than basic services.  Nearly all of the donations to Friends of the Shelter go directly to pay for the medical, surgical, recuperative, and infirmary care for Shelter dogs that are sick, injured, abused, or neglected. This care costs, on average, $150,000 annually and is funded primarily through donations. Friends of the Shelter does not receive any funding from taxes, national organizations, or government entities.

The Kyle Swanson Legacy Fund was able to make a generous donation to this organization October 2022.

Cathy Coop Fund at the UK Markey Cancer Foundation

While receiving treatment at UK Markey Cancer Foundation, Cathy Coop met several patients facing mental, emotional and monetary challenges. While she battled cancer herself, she also helped others so they could focus their energies on getting well, without any extra worry.

The Cathy Coop Fund was created to honor the memory of this compassionate woman. 100% of donations support female patients who are battling any type of cancer and are in need of financial assistance for items such as transportation to treatments, groceries, hotel rooms for family members, meals, childcare and help with medication co-pays.

The Kyle Swanson Legacy Fund was able to make a generous donation to this organization November 2022.
